Here we go!
2011 was a great year for me, good job, loving boyfriend, tons of travels, and bought my first house. However, I also put on a couple lbs, I am the heaviest I have been in several years. I attribute the weight gain to what I would like to call "the honeymoon" phase. First year living with my boyfriend, packing and unpacking a house twice, getting to know each other and wanting to spend time eating out and together instead of in the gym and doing what needs to be done.
Glad to say that phase is over and now we are in the "lifestyle" phase. Into our running programs and not feeling the need to spend every waking moment together. Don't get me wrong, He is my best friend and I want nothing more than to spend every day with him, but what I have come to realize is that if I am not home to cook his dinner he will figure it out...like he did not eat before I cam along or something...
This year I plan to add more yoga into my life, cross training, and complete a couple of races. I also want to learn what to eat and what not to eat. I would love to be one of those people that just knows what to order on the menu and has the will power to stay away from the fries that are smothered, covered, and chunked...right now I am not one of those people. I want to fuel my body with good foods and feel better and become a better healthier person.
So, this being the first day of the year I made out my list of great foods, planned meals, clipped cupons, and washed my gym clothes.
The fridge is stocked, clothes are cleaned, and I know what I am going to eat for the entire week. I say off to a good start...as usual...
